Alan Thornton, Jr.
Alan joined the Box Financial team in 2018 as a Financial Advisor and brought with him a comprehensive career – most recently, as Director of Development for Major Gifts at University of North Texas. In his three years in this role he raised more than $2M for student scholarships, programs and a named department chair position. Alan graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Fitness Management and then went on to get a Master of Science degree in Sports Administration.
Alan was introduced to the financial services industry in 2008 through Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and since 2012 he has served in the Stewardship Ministry Department as teacher and table leader for Financial Hope Workshops and Financial Fitness Workshops at Gateway Church. “My desire is to be used to effect change for God’s people to experience freedom in every area of their life, with their personal finances being a conduit to their complete freedom…”
In May of 2012, Alan was married to the “love of his life,” Jen. They have three children: twins (boy/girl), Micah and Noel, and their youngest son, Asher. Alan’s hobbies include family time, reading, fishing, and “simple” DIY projects. He is an amateur foodie and he and Jen love to discover new destinations and local eateries.
